Tom Hardy’s Best Action Movie on Rotten Tomatoes Is Leaving Netflix

The Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron action movie Mad Max: Fury Road will leave Netflix soon. The film is the fourth entry in the Mad Max franchise. George Miller directed Fury Road from a script he penned with Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris. He previously helmed the first two movies and co-directed the third with George Ogilvie.

Mad Max: Fury Road is leaving Netflix next month

Mad Max: Fury Road will leave Netflix on January 1, 2026. Some of the other movies leaving the platform on that date are Blue Beetle, 8 Mile, Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom, 47 Ronin, Doctor Sleep, and Crazy Rich Asians.

Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the most celebrated action movies of the 21st century. However, Netflix subscribers will still be able find other fan-favorite action movies on the streaming service, such as Conan the Destroyer and Man on Fire.

Mad Max: Fury Road takes place in a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland. It was Hardy’s first and only outing to date as the franchise’s leading character “Mad” Max Rockatansky, a role portrayed by Mel Gibson in the previous movies. Jacob Tomuri played the character in the 2024 prequel feature Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and Bren Foster voiced the character in the 2015 video game Mad Max.

Besides Hardy, the cast of the movie includes Theron as Imperator Furiosa, Nicholas Hoult as Nux, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe, Josh Helman as Slit, Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus, and Zoë Kravitz as Toast the Knowing.

Fury Road did extremely well with the critics and has a 97% approval rating on the review aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes from 439 reviews, and did well at the global box office. Furiosa received a more lukewarm response at the box office. Despite this, Miller expressed hope for a potential sequel to Fury Road earlier this year (via Vulture).
