Netflix’s film rankings have shifted this week, with Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery claiming the top spot on the platform’s U.S. top 10 movies list. The thriller has surpassed Jay Kelly to become the most-watched title.

Netflix’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery climbed to the top of the platform’s Top 10 list. The latest entry in Rian Johnson’s mystery franchise has become the most-watched English-language film on Netflix during the second week of December.

According to Netflix’s latest “Top 10 Movies in the United States Overview,” Wake Up Dead Man reached the number-one position in 39 countries worldwide. The film recorded 20.2 million views shortly after its streaming debut. It became available on Netflix on December 12, following a limited theatrical release on November 26, 2025.

Written and directed by Johnson, Wake Up Dead Man is the third installment in the Knives Out franchise. It once again stars Daniel Craig as private detective Benoit Blanc. This chapter shows Blanc in a quiet town in upstate New York, where a death inside a church sets off a deeply unsettling investigation.

The case centers on the killing of Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, portrayed by Josh Brolin. Wicks is found dead during a Good Friday service. Suspicion quickly turns to Jud Duplenticy, a young priest played by Josh O’Connor. This happens following a series of clashes between the two men. As local authorities struggle to explain the circumstances surrounding the death, Blanc is brought in to examine the case.

Other cast members include Glenn Close, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, and Andrew Scott, among others.

Wake Up Dead Man has received strong critical and audience response. The film currently holds a 93% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 281 reviews. It also received a 94% audience rating.
