Donald Trump’s Insult-Filled Rob Reiner Eulogy Gets Slammed by The View Hosts

Donald Trump has commented on the recent passing of Rob Reiner.

Rob Reiner — known for directing a large handful of beloved movies like 1984’s This Is Spinal Tap, 1986’s Stand By Me, 1987’s The Princess Bride, 1989’s When Harry Met Sally…, 1990’s Misery, and 1992’s A Few Good Men, among many others — tragically was found dead with his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, in their Brentwood home on Sunday afternoon. The case has been labeled an “apparent homicide,” per The New York Times.

Per Variety, “Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Rob and Michele Reiner, is in custody after the apparent homicide of the director and his wife on Sunday afternoon. Nick Reiner was arrested Sunday night at 9:15 p.m. and booked on a felony charge on Monday at 5:04 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department online records. The LAPD could not confirm to Variety whether Nick Reiner is in custody related to the homicide investigation into the deaths of Rob and Michele, but listed Nick’s booking description as ‘gang activity.’ His bail has been set at $4 million.”

What did Donald Trump and The View hosts say about Rob Reiner?

On Truth Social, Trump wrote the following about Reiner, “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

The homicide remains under investigation at this time, and not many details have been released about the police, meaning there’s no reason to believe Reiner’s death had anything to do with politics or comments that he made about Trump.

Per Deadline, The View‘s Whoopi Goldberg said about Trump’s response, “If we can wrap our minds around the awfulness of these things, then we can open our hearts to all the people who’ve had to deal with this. All the women, all the men, all the people of color, all the Jews, all the folks who’ve had to deal with this struggle. I don’t understand the man in that White House, because he talked so much about Charlie Kirk and caring, and suddenly this is what he puts out. Have you no shame? No shame at all? Can you get any lower? I don’t think so.”

The View co-host Ana Navarro also said, “At a time when so many in the media industry, so many with a platform are afraid to speak, he put his money and his mouth where his heart was and for Trump to have put that out today, I’m gonna say it: You know, damn it, there’s an American family grieving. This is a tragedy, not just for the family, but for all who knew and loved him, and for the President of the United States to make this about him as a way to attack Rob Reiner, because he exercised his American right to speak up with what he disagreed with, is shameful. It is disgraceful. And of all the disgusting things that Donald Trump has done, this is right up there.”

ComingSoon sends condolences to Reiner’s friends and family at this time.
