Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ’80s Fantasy Movie To Stream on Netflix
As the new year approaches, streaming platforms are gearing up with impressive content libraries, and Netflix is ready with their line-up of movies and TV series for 2026. Among classic rom-coms and dramas, one of Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s iconic characters will make its way to the platform. His 1984 sword‑and‑sorcery fantasy adventure film Conan the Destroyer will come to Netflix in January.

Conan the Destroyer will begin streaming on Netflix starting January 1, 2026 (via What’s on Netflix). The film, directed by Richard Fleischer, came out in theaters on June 29, 1984. It follows the journey of Conan, a warrior King who accompanies his little niece Jehnna to help her find a magic gem.
The duo set out on an adventure together to retrieve the gem from a powerful wizard’s fortress. While Schwarzenegger takes on the titular role of Conan the Barbarian, a young Olivia d’Abo plays Jehnna.
Other cast members include Grace jones as Zula, Wilt Chamberlain as Bombaata, Sarah Douglas as Queen Taramis, Makoto Iwamatsu as Akiro “The Wizard,” and Sven-Ole Thorsen as Togra, among others. This film is a sequel to Schwarzenegger’s 1982 film Conan the Barbarian, directed by John Milius.
Along with Conan the Destroyer, Netflix is also bringing films from a wide range of genres to the platform in January. Viewers will be able to stream comedies like Brüno (2009), Just Go With It, and Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life, among others.
The OTT giant will also add dramas like 12 Years A Slave and Ford v Ferrari to its library. Family audiences can enjoy the arrival of films like Despicable Me and My Girl, while sci‑fi epics like District 9 and Johnny Mnemonic will also become available to stream on January 1. The following days will also see the release of the latest Netflix Original movies and series, including the highly anticipated Season 4 of Bridgerton.
