Supergirl Teaser Video Previews DCU Movie’s Upcoming Trailer

A new Supergirl teaser video has been released ahead of the DCU movie’s upcoming trailer.

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Supergirl will be released in United States theaters and IMAX next summer. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film will see Milly Alcock reprise her role as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl after the character briefly appeared at the end of 2025’s Superman, which was directed by James Gunn.

It has previously been announced that the first teaser trailer for Supergirl will be released on Thursday, December 11, 2025. After sharing a new poster for the movie, Gunn has now posted a short, 15-second-long video building up hype for the trailer’s release.

What do we see in the Supergirl teaser video?

While brief, the Supergirl video has some footage of Kara flying and also appears to give DC fans a first glimpse at what the DCU’s Krypton looks like. At the end of the video, Kara and Ruthye Marye Knoll are being surrounded and targeted by men carrying guns.

Eve Ridley is playing Ruthye Marye Knoll in Supergirl, with the cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll.

The film is based on the 2021 Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow miniseries by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The solicitation for the series’ first issue reads, “Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.”

Supergirl arrives on June 26, 2026.
