What happens in the Pandora: Fire and Ice trailer?

The Pandora: Fire and Ice trailer previews a dangerous, exciting war between Earth and an alien race that comes from a planet named Pandora.

The official synopsis for the movie reads, “Decades after humanity’s first contact with Pandora, a new expedition returns to harvest what’s left of the planet’s resources—only to discover that the alien species is preparing to strike back against Earth.”

The cast includes Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, Runaway Train), Erika K. Marks, and William McNamara. The script comes from Joe Roche, while Canyon Prince serves as director.

Pandora: Fire and Ice is playing off the upcoming release of James Cameron’s Avatar 3, also known as Avatar: Fire and Ash, as Pandora is also the name of the alien planet that is home to the Na’vi in that franchise. Releasing in United States theaters on December 19 from 20th Century Studios, the cast of Avatar: Fire and Ash includes Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch, Oona Chaplin as Varang, Cliff Curtis as Tonowari, Britain Dalton as Lo’ak, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss as Tuk, Jack Champion as Spider, Bailey Bass as Reya, Kate Winslet as Ronal, Giovanni Ribisi as Parker Selfridge, Joel David Moore as Dr. Norm Spellman, Edie Falco as General Frances Ardmore, Jemaine Clement as Dr. Ian Garvin, and Brendan Cowell as Captain Mick Scoresby, among others.
