New Anaconda movie posters and teaser revealed
Sony Pictures has released a set of character posters and a new teaser for its upcoming Anaconda reboot. The upcoming film, directed by Tom Gormican, takes a different direction from the original franchise and presents the story as a meta comedy. The movie’s story centers on a group of friends who decide to remake their favourite childhood movie.
Paul Rudd and Jack Black headline the cast as Griff and Doug, with Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello appearing in supporting roles. Sony Pictures UK unveiled the promotional posters of the cast on X (formerly Twitter). The posts feature individual images of the cast members, including Rudd, Black, Zahn, Newton, Melchior, and Mello. The posters show a snake wrapped around their necks with a dense forest behind them. They feature the tagline “A comedy so big it’ll leave you breathless.”
The studio captioned the post, “This crew rolls deep. #AnacondaMovie – the holiday’s biggest comedy is in cinemas Boxing Day.” In addition to the character portraits, the campaign includes a separate poster featuring what appears to be a pig identified as “Boris.”
Sony Pictures has also released a brief video featuring the cast discussing the film alongside new footage. In the clip, Black describes the project as “magic.”
The new movie’s plot follows lifelong friends Griff and Doug, who decide to remake their favorite childhood film during a period of midlife crisis. Their plan takes them to the Amazon rainforest with a small production crew. However, their passion project quickly spirals into real danger as an anaconda begins pursuing them.
Anaconda is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 25, 2025.
