Supergirl Art Reveals Jason Momoa’s Lobo Weapon

DC Studios has teased the supervillain axe wielded by Jason Momoa’s Lobo in the upcoming DCU movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. After previously portraying the superhero Aquaman, Momoa is transitioning to a villainous role in the newly rebooted DCU. And, from the looks of it, Lobo is getting a comic-accurate weapon in his upcoming live-action appearance.

DC art reveals iconic weapon of Jason Momoa’s Lobo in Supergirl

DC Studios’ presence at the annual CCXP convention in Brazil teased Lobo’s weapon. While the exact model of the weapon has not been revealed, it seems that Momoa’s character is getting the same hooked axe that Lobo uses in the comic books.

The comic version of the weapon features a large, curved blade and a dangling chain hanging from its hilt. Now, the first reveal hints at the same design in the live-action adaptation.

But Lobo, despite all the excitement surrounding his appearance in the DCU, will not be the primary villain in Supergirl. Instead, Matthias Schoenaerts’ Krem of the Yellow Hills is the rumored main antagonist in the film.

Meanwhile, Lobo will serve as an additional villain. However, given that Jason Momoa stepped in to play the character, he may have a much bigger role in the future of the DC universe.

In the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, which serves as the primary inspiration for the upcoming film, Lobo isn’t a part of the story. However, the way Kara Zor-El’s story is positioned, there is ample scope for him to hop into the narrative.

Supergirl will star Milly Alcock in the titular role as she travels across galaxies on a murderous quest for revenge. The film will also feature Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. Alcock already made her debut as the titular character in James Gunn’s Superman, where her story was also established.

Supergirl will premiere on June 26, 2026, as a part of DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
