New Netflix Movie Is Just Like Robin Williams’ Mrs. Doubtfire

A new Netflix movie is coming out just in time for the holidays, and some early reactions are comparing the film to movies like the classic Mrs. Doubtfire.

What Netflix movie is being compared to Mrs. Doubtfire?

My Secret Santa, the new film from Michael Rohl, is out now on Netflix. Early reactions on social media so far have been relatively positive, as well. Specifically, a handful of reactions likened the plot to a reverse Mrs. Doubtfire, with the film focusing on a woman pretending to be a man in order to get hired as a seasonal Santa.

Outside of the connection to the 1993 Robin Williams classic, the reactions to the movie are mostly mixed. Many call it a “decent” enough movie, while some jokingly also call it a ripoff of the plot of the 1993 comedy. Check out some of the reactions to the movie below:

“A vivacious single mom in need of a job decides to disguise herself as a man in order to get hired as the seasonal Santa at a luxury ski resort. But when she starts to fall in love with the hotel manager, complications develop that could ruin everything,” reads the official synopsis of the film.

My Secret Santa stars Alexandra Brekenridge, Ryan Eggold, Madison MacIsaac, Barry Levy, Diana Maria Riva, Tia Mowry, Adam Beauchesne, Dominic Fox, Nathan Kay, and William C. Vaughan. The movie is directed by Michael Rohl from a script written by Ron Oliver and Carley Smale. The movie is available to watch now on Netflix.
