A new set of images from The Fantastic Four: First Steps – The Art of the Movie showcases Galactus without his helmet. The concept art shows Galactus, portrayed by Ralph Ineson, with his bare head visible. His iconic helmet lies on rubble beside him. Marvel Studios’ official artwork reveals the purple-suited villain without headgear. His costume extends up the side of his face and over his ears.
Additional concept art shows Ralph Ineson’s exposed head with detailed technology wrapped around the back of his skull and ears. Galactus wears his helmet throughout the film, making these images the first official unmasked look. The Direct reports that Galactus appears prominently in the new Fantastic Four images, shown without his signature helmet.
The art book was released alongside The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which launched Marvel Studios’ Phase 6 and introduced the team in their first MCU solo film. The cast includes Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Galactus was defeated in the film without being killed. The Silver Surfer helped blast him across the galaxy, halting his attempt to consume Earth. However, the film hinted at future developments, revealing that Galactus recognized the power of Reed and Sue’s son, Franklin Richards. He forced Franklin’s birth after realizing the child possessed the Power Cosmic.
Marvel Studios presents Galactus as a long-term threat. He is expected to return after the Multiverse Saga. Avengers: Doomsday will focus on Victor von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., who aims to harness Franklin’s powers.
The film is now streaming on Disney+.
