‘What Have I Done?’: Milly Alcock Panicked After Landing Supergirl

Milly Alcock recently opened up about her reaction to learning that she secured the role to play Supergirl in the new DCU. In a recent interview, the House of the Dragon star detailed how she felt right after she received a text that confirmed her involvement in the DCU, stating that the emotion was a mixture of excitement and fear.

Milly Alcock didn’t believe she could do justice to Supergirl after getting cast

While speaking with Forbes Australia, Milly Alcock revealed that she was initially so worried about landing the role as the DCU’s Supergirl that she had to give the director of the film, Craig Gillespie, a call to voice her concerns.

The Australian actress admitted, “I thought, ‘What have I done?’ I really struggled to believe I could do it. I even called the director, saying, ‘I don’t know how to be that person. I’m just me.'”

Despite her initial disbelief, Alcock ultimately gathered herself by placing her confidence in her abilities. “Eventually, I realized the only way through was to trust myself. I always believe life is right on time. Things happen when they’re supposed to, whether you feel ready or not,” she noted.

Having recognized the task she has in her hands, Alcock then mentioned that she is aware of the fame that comes with it. “In London, it’s fine. In other places, not so much. It comes in waves. I know when Supergirl comes out, things will shift again,” the 25-year-old star said.

Aside from Milly Alcock, Supergirl also features a star-studded supporting cast. The film’s additional cast includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa, who’ll portray Lobo. Based on the Woman of Tomorrow comic book series, the movie is currently on track to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
