People We Meet on Vacation Trailer: Tom Blyth, Emily Bader Star in Netflix Movie

Netflix has shared the official trailer for People We Meet on Vacation, the upcoming film adaptation of Emily Henry’s popular 2021 novel, which has sold more than 2 million copies and spent 69 weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers list. The romantic comedy will be available for streaming starting on January 9, 2026.

“Free-spirited Poppy and routine-loving Alex have been unlikely best friends for a decade, living in different cities but spending every summer vacation together,” reads the official synopsis. “The careful balance of their friendship is put to the test when they begin to question what has been obvious to everyone else — could they actually be the perfect romantic match?”

People We Meet on Vacation will be led by Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) as Alex Nilsen and Emily Bader (My Lady Jane) as Poppy Wright. Joining them are Sarah Catherine Hook (First Kill), Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Lucien Laviscount (Emily in Paris), Lukas Gage (You), Miles Heizer (13 Reasons Why), Tommy Do (Hacks), Alice Lee (Sierra Burgess Is a Loser), Alan Ruck (Succession), and Molly Shannon (The White Lotus).

Brett Haley (Hearts Beat Loud) directed the movie from a screenplay written by Yulin Kuang. The film is produced by Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and Isaac Klausner, with Henry, Laura Quicksilver, and Ted Gidlow serving as executive producers. The creative team includes director of photography Rob Givens, editor Evan Henke, production designer Bruce Curtis, costume designer Colin Wilkes, and composer Keegan DeWitt.
