  • Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004)
  • Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016)

Zellweger’s Bridget Jones franchise was based on Helen Fielding’s novel series of the same name. The story follows the titular character as she tries to navigate her life while dealing with complicated romances with Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver. For her leading performance in the 2001 movie, Zellweger received her first Oscar nomination for Best Actress. The ensemble cast also featured Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Patrick Dempsey, Jim Broadbent, Gemma Jones, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Leo Woodall. Out of all Bridget Jones movies, The Edge of Reason is the franchise’s only sequel that was negatively received by the critics.
