Bad Teacher to stream on Netflix in December
Cameron Diaz’s comedy film Bad Teacher is officially joining Netflix next month. The title is scheduled to arrive on the streaming service on December 1, 2025, as confirmed by What’s on Netflix.
Directed by Jake Kasdan, Bad Teacher was originally released in theaters on June 24, 2011. The movie features Diaz in the lead role of Elizabeth Halsey. She is joined by Justin Timberlake as Scott Delacorte, Lucy Punch as Amy Squirrel, Jason Segel as Russell Gettis, and Phyllis Smith as Lynn Davies.
The movie’s plot follows Elizabeth, a middle school teacher with little passion for her profession. She returns to the job after her wealthy fiancé ends their engagement. With no choice but to return to her teaching job, Elizabeth resumes work with indifference. Her attitude shifts when Scott Delacorte, a substitute teacher with significant family wealth, joins the staff.
Elizabeth becomes focused on getting breast implant surgery in order to win him over. However, she does not have the money to pay for it. She soon discovers that the teacher whose class achieves the highest score on the upcoming state exam will receive a bonus. With the opportunity to fund her cosmetic surgery, she becomes invested in improving student performance.
Bad Teacher received mixed reviews from critics upon release. The film currently holds a 46 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 189 reviews, along with a 36 percent audience Popcornmeter rating.
Despite the divided viewer response, the movie was a box office hit. According to Box Office Mojo, it earned over $100 million domestically, with a worldwide total of $216.2 million.
