Frozen 3 & 4 Stars’ Huge Salaries Revealed
Disney’s Frozen franchise continues to break records, and this time, behind the scenes. Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Idina Menzel reportedly have each secured huge salaries to return for Frozen 3 and Frozen 4, making it one of the richest payouts in animation history.
Frozen 3’s Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel secure massive paydays
Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Idina Menzel, who voice Anna, Olaf, and Elsa, will reportedly receive a combination of upfront fees and box-office-based bonuses totaling more than $60 million across the two upcoming sequels.
Each actor is expected to earn close to $20 million upfront per film, with the remainder tied to performance-based payouts. The new salaries represent a steep jump from their Frozen 2 earnings, which stood at around $15 million for each.
An executive close to the negotiations told TheWrap that the payments will be made over several years and are not going to be given as a single lump sum. Disney hasn’t yet commented on the reported figures.
The massive paydays are a reflection of the continued commercial strength of the Frozen brand. The first film earned $1.3 billion globally, while Frozen 2 surpassed that in 2019 with $1.4 billion.
Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen, the original 2013 film became a cultural phenomenon, winning Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Let It Go.”
Its impact extended far beyond theaters as the franchise remains one of Disney’s most profitable. It is bolstered by worldwide merchandise sales, theme-park attractions, touring productions, cruise ship experiences, and global stage adaptations.
Now, Jennifer Lee, who directed the first two films, is returning to direct Frozen 3, this time alongside Trent Correy, the filmmaker behind Disney’s 2023 short Once Upon a Studio. Longtime producer Peter Del Vecho and songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will also return.
Disney has slated Frozen 3 for a Thanksgiving 2027 release on November 24. Frozen 4 currently has no confirmed date but reportedly remains in active development.
