Popular Multiplayer Video Game Gets a Movie Adaptation
More than a year ago since Anegar Games launched Chained Together, a live-action movie adaptation of the hit multiplayer video game is now in the works from Greenland producer Anton. The latter is also the production company behind Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s action thriller movie Fuze and the acclaimed Memoir of a Snail movie.
During the first week of its release, the game was an instant hit and was able to gain 80,000 players. It is a 3D platformer game that requires up to four players to work together through different challenges while being chained to one another.
“Begin your journey in the depths of hell, chained to your companions. Your mission is to escape hell by climbing as high as possible,” reads the game’s official description. “Each jump requires perfect coordination to scale the platforms and escape the scorching heat. Traverse a multitude of worlds, each offering unique challenges.”
Who’s involved in the Chained Together movie?
According to Deadline, the Chained Together movie will be produced by Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert of So It Goes Entertainment. Their recent writing credits include 2024’s Sylvester Stallone action movie Armor and Cole Sprouse’s action comedy Under Fire. At the moment, the project has no director, cast, or release date attached to it yet.
“Chained Together is one of those games that instantly connects with players because of its humor, challenge, and sense of teamwork,” Speckert and Hughes said in a joint statement. “As producers, we couldn’t be more excited to be working with Anton on this. We think they’re the perfect partner for this project, and we believe there’s an endless amount of fun to be had with the premise. The game’s collaborative nature, the dependency between players chained together, creates a unique foundation for cinematic storytelling. We can’t wait to bring that spirit to life for fans and new audiences alike.”
