Michael B. Jordan & Juno Temple Join Tangled Director’s Netflix Movie

Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple are set to star in Swapped, the upcoming Netflix animated movie from Tangled director Nathan Greno.

“A buddy comedy about a small woodland creature (voiced by Michael B. Jordan) and a majestic bird (voiced by Juno Temple)—natural sworn enemies of The Valley—who suddenly swap bodies and must team up (while walking in each other’s feathers and fur) to survive the wildest adventure of their lives,” says the official description.

Swapped is set to be released in 2026, though a more exact release date has not been announced. The project, which is a collaboration between Netflix and Skydance, was formerly titled Pookoo and released a first-look image that can be seen below.

Who is making Swapped?

The story is scripted by John Whittington, whose previous credits include The Lego Batman Movie, along with writing partners Christian Magalhaes and Robert Snow of DuckTales, and the Apple TV series WondLa. John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews, meanwhile, all serve as producers.

Jordan, who has recently courted Oscar for his dual leading role in the Ryan Coogler horror film Sinners, has several projects in the works. They include a sequel to I Am Legend, a new version of The Thomas Crown Affair, and his reported involvement in the Miami Vice reboot.

Temple is best known for her role as Keeley Jones, which she will reprise in Ted Lasso Season 4 alongside the returning Jason Sudeikis. She also recently co-starred in the crime dramedy biopic Roofman, sharing the screen with Channing Tatum and LaKeith Stanfield. The four-time Emmy nominee will also be leading her own television series, titled The Husbands, which is currently in the works for Apple TV.

Jordan and Temple, Greno said in a statement, deliver “warmth and authenticity” to the film. “Every moment between them feels alive — funny one second, deeply moving the next. Their chemistry lifts the story and gives Swapped its wings.”
