David Harbour Looks Almost Unrecognizable in Evil Genius Set Photos

David Harbour’s latest transformation has sparked new conversation after fresh set photos from Evil Genius appeared online. The images, shared on social media, highlight how the actor adopted a dramatically altered look for the true-crime film. The photos offer the first clear glimpse of Harbour’s character as production on Courteney Cox’s new project continues.

Evil Genius set photos tease David Harbour’s character

Set photos from the upcoming true-crime film Evil Genius reveal David Harbour in a significantly transformed appearance for his role.

Images from X account @favspopculture show “a man with gray hair and beard wearing a light blue shirt and blue overalls standing outdoors next to a green van” as a “woman with long dark hair in a black jacket” holds a paper. Another photo shows him “wearing glasses a blue shirt tan overalls and a tan jacket walking on a porch towards a white house with blue shutters,” with a green van and autumn foliage in view.

Harbour adopts a larger physique, a false beard, glasses, and work overalls on set, matching the film’s true-crime setting. Courteney Cox directs the movie, which adapts the 2018 documentary series Evil Genius about the 2003 “pizza bomber” bank robbery that killed pizza delivery worker Brian Wells. Casting remains unconfirmed, but set images show filmmaker Tom McCarthy appearing to portray Wells.

The cast includes Patricia Arquette, Michael Chernus, Garret Dillahunt, and McCarthy. Cox said, “I’ve been fascinated by Evil Genius since I first saw the documentary. It’s stranger than fiction. At moments darkly funny and yet deeply emotional. A story about love, loneliness, manipulation, and the people on the fringes who get pulled into something much bigger than themselves” (via Deadline). Cox previously directed the adaptation TalHotBlond, also based on a Barbara Schroeder documentary.

Harbour attended the Thunderbolts premiere in Los Angeles on April 28, 2025. Reports later referenced him in connection with an alleged claim filed by Millie Bobby Brown, though neither actor has addressed it. Brown said, “I obviously had a really special bond with David because we have a father-daughter relationship.” Harbour said, “I adore her, and I’ve been proud to watch all of them grow up and become such great artists” (via Entertainment Tonight).
