Twilight vs. Hunger Games: Jennifer Lawrence Has a Surprising Pick

Jennifer Lawrence surprised fans during a recent interview with her Die My Love co-star Robert Pattinson. While taking part in Variety’s Lie Detector Test segment, the actress gave an unexpected answer when asked which franchise she thought was “cooler” between The Hunger Games and Twilight.

Jennifer Lawrence says Twilight is cooler than The Hunger Games

During a recent Vanity Fair interview, Jennifer Lawrence’s light-hearted confession quickly drew attention from fans of both The Hunger Games and Twilight franchises. The topic came up during the magazine’s Lie Detector Test video segment, in which the pair took turns asking each other questions.

When Pattinson surprising asked, “You famously once auditioned for Twilight?” Lawrence confirmed it with a laugh, “Yeah, I auditioned for Twilight.” He then asked, “Do you wish you’d booked the part?” to which the No Hard Feelings star replied, “No.”

The Twilight actor then followed up with another question, “Do you think the Hunger Games” is cooler than Twilight?” To his amusement, Lawrence once again answered “no.” A polygraph examiner confirmed her response as truthful, prompting laughter from both actors.

Pattinson, who portrayed Edward Cullen across the Twilight films from 2008 to 2012, appeared amused by her answer. He jokingly called it “breaking news.” Lawrence, known for leading the Hunger Games franchise as Katniss Everdeen, suggested that the lie-detector machine must have been “broken.”

In the same interview, Pattinson admitted he would gladly reprise his role as Edward Cullen if a new Twilight movie were ever made. When Lawrence asked whether he would return to the franchise, Pattinson responded enthusiastically, saying, “Oh yeah, for sure.”

The exchange took place while the two were promoting their film Die, My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay. The dark comedy-drama stars Pattinson and Lawrence as a troubled couple navigating parenthood and isolation.
