Chris Pine, Jessica Chastain, Mikey Madison, & MCU Stars Join New Crime Movie
A number of A-listers have been tapped to join the My Darling California cast, including the likes of Oscar winners Jessica Chastain (Molly’s Game, Interstellar) and Mikey Madison (Anora, Scream), as well as Star Trek and Hell or High Water actor Chris Pine.
My Darling California follows a group of people from different walks of life, all entangled by a single crime that ties their fates together. The upcoming crime thriller will be directed by writer-director Elijah Bynum, who has previously helmed the 2017 Timothée Chalamet-led A24 film Hot Summer Nights and the 2023 psychological drama Magazine Dreams, starring Jonathan Majors.
Who is in the My Darling California cast?
In addition to Chastain, Madison, and Pine, the planned crime thriller will also be led by Oscar nominees Josh Brolin (Weapons, No Country for Old Men) and Don Cheadle (House of Lies, Ocean’s Twelve), as well as Gotham winner Charles Melton (Riverdale, May December).
My Darling California will be set in LA, centering on a single crime that “weaves together the lives of a TV host, his restless wife, a country music idol, two small time crooks and an ex-con, all of whom are chasing the promise of a better life,” per Deadline’s description.
2AM’s David Hinojosa (Materialists) will be producing the project, with 2AM’s Zach Nutman executive producing. “Elijah is one of the most exciting new filmmaking voices today, and My Darling California solidifies him as a major talent,” Hinojosa said in a statement shared by the outlet. “Along with this stellar cast, we are thrilled to help bring his vision to life and create a true cinematic event.”
Production for My Darling California is scheduled to commence next year. Other details about the project have yet to be revealed.
