Nicolas Cage Jesus Horror Movie The Carpenter’s Son Gets Creepy New Trailer
Magnolia Pictures has shared a brand new trailer for The Carpenter’s Son, its upcoming horror take on Jesus Christ’s childhood. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 14.
“A remote village in Roman-era Egypt explodes into spiritual warfare when a carpenter, his wife, and their child are targeted by supernatural forces in The Carpenter’s Son. Joseph, Mary, and their teenage son Jesus have lived for years under threat, clinging to their faith and traditions,” reads the official synopsis. “But a stopover in a small settlement unleashes growing chaos when a mysterious stranger tries to entice young Jesus to abandon his devout father’s rules. With every pull of temptation, the boy is lured into a forbidden world, as a terrified Joseph realizes that a demonic power is at work. Violent, unnatural events inexplicably follow Jesus, and he begins to experience nightmarish visions of the future. Finally, he learns the fearsome truth about his new playmate, as well as the child’s real name: Satan.”

What happens in The Carpenter’s Son trailer?
The video shows teenage Jesus Christ, who begins having dark visions of his future, after the arrival of a mysterious girl. Besides the visions, he starts uncovering the miraculous powers he possesses. Meanwhile, his parents also face a spiritual dilemma as they are haunted by supernatural forces that are trying to weaken their faith. The movie is led by Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage as the Carpenter, singer-actress FKA Twigs as the Mother, and A Quiet Place star Noah Jupe as the Boy.
The Carpenter’s Son is written and directed by Lotfy Nathan, who delivers a meticulously crafted, genre-bending supernatural thriller. It was inspired by the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, which recounts stories from Jesus Christ’s childhood. Additional cast members include Isla Johnston, Souheila Yacoub, Penelope Markopoulou, Kaiti Manolidaki, Tomer Lev Tov, and more.
The movie is executive-produced by Nathan, Scott Aharoni, Jackie Bernon, Noémie Devide, Sinan Eczacibasi, Harry Finkel, Yiannis Iakovidis, Eugene Kotlyarenko, David Levine, Nick Shumaker, Jennifer Venditti, Theo Vieljeux, and Metin Alihan Yalcindag.
