Wedding Crashers 2 Update: Isla Fisher Explains Sequel Delay
A new Wedding Crashers 2 update has been made by star Isla Fisher, who recently explained why the film has had trouble being made.
What did Isla Fisher say about Wedding Crashers 2’s delays?
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live!, Fisher was asked about the status of the sequel film. Fisher revealed that she actually did get a visa in order to film in the United States for the film, but that was years ago. Now, though, Fisher says the hold up is mainly due to scheduling.
“I have a feeling that we’re waiting on Owen [Wilson]’s schedule,” said Fisher. “But I think [director] Dave Dobkin’s interested, and Vince [Vaughn]. All the ingredients are there.”
The status of a potential sequel to the 2005 romantic comedy has been up in the air for years. In 2022, Owen Wilson said that director David Dobkin was “exploring ideas,” and that they were working on some stuff.
“David Dobkin, the director, I think he’s sort of, kind of exploring some ideas,” Wilson said. “And it was kind of, one of those movies that we had such a great time doing it, and then obviously it got a really nice response. So, just hoping if you do do something, that it can live up to the first one.”
Originally released in 2005 and starring Wilson, Vaughn, Isla Fisher, Rachel McAdams, Christopher Walken, and many more, Wedding Crashers became a hit right away, earning almost $300 million at the box office and oftentimes being credited with helping revive the popularity of more adult-oriented, R-rated comedy films.
