Hugh Jackman & Kate Hudson Movie Song Sung Blue Gets New Trailer
Focus Features has shared a brand new trailer for Song Sung Blue, the upcoming biographical music drama led by Academy Award nominee Hugh Jackman (The Greatest Showman) and Golden Globe winner Kate Hudson (Almost Famous). The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 25, 2025.
“Based on a true story, two down-on-their-luck musicians form a joyous Neil Diamond tribute band, proving it’s never too late to find love and follow your dreams,” reads the official synopsis.

What do we know about Song Sung Blue?
Song Sung Blue is written and directed by Craig Brewer, who is also serving as a producer along with John Davis and John Fox. It is based on Greg Kohs’ 2008 documentary of the same name. The ensemble cast also includes Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, Hudson Hensley, Fisher Stevens, and Jim Belushi. The movie is executive-produced by Erika Hampson and Greg Kohs.
Ahead of its theatrical release, the movie had its world premiere at the 2025 AFI Film Festival over a week ago. Since then, it has garnered positive reviews from critics’ early reactions. It currently holds a Tomatometer rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 14 reviews.
Besides Song Sung Blue, Jackman will also next be seen in the mystery comedy movie The Sheep Detectives, and in the thriller movie The Death of Robin Hood. As for Hudson, she’s expected to reprise her role as Isla Gordon in the second season of Netflix’s workplace comedy Running Point.
