What happens in the Oscar: The Return of the Mammoth trailer?

The Oscar: The Return of the Mammoth trailer sees, thanks to some genetic experiments, a prehistoric mammoth brought to life in the modern day. While relatively small at first, the mammoth — named Oscar — quickly grows to the size of the building. A kidnapping plot then results in an all-out battle on populated streets between Oscar and a dinosaur.

“A sci-fi action tale of a mammoth resurrected through genetic experiments,” the official synopsis reads. “The giant creature mysteriously appears in Cairo, growing rapidly as chaos unfolds in the heart of the city.”

Oscar: The Return of the Mammoth is directed by Hesham EL-Rashidy, who previously made a 2021 movie called Mako, while he also directed episodes of TV shows called Already Happened and Lunch Box. Mohamed Tantawy and Ahmed Shehata both serve as producers on the movie, while the screenplay comes from Moustafa Askar and Hamed Alsharab.

The cast of Oscar: The Return of the Mammoth includes Ahmed Salah Hosny, Hanady Mehana, Mohamed Tharwat, Liya Swidan, Ahmed AL-Bayed, Mai Al-Kady, and Mahmoud Abdelmoghny.

Oscar: The Return of the Mammoth is currently playing in cinemas in Egypt, while international audiences are being eyed by Trend VFX.
