Popular Ben Affleck & Jennifer Aniston Movie Getting Reboot
New Line Cinema is reportedly planning to develop a brand new film adaptation of He’s Just Not That Into You, based on Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo’s 2004 self-help book of the same name. The novel was first adapted for the big screen in 2009, with an all-star cast featuring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, and Drew Barrymore.
What do we know about the He’s Just Not That Into You reboot?
According to The InSneider, New Line Cinema is currently searching for a new writer who will pen the screenplay of the He’s Just Not That Into You reboot. Further details about the movie’s potential plot and characters are still under wraps, but the outlet is suggesting that the reboot may take on a new title to better fit its modern storyline.
The outlet also claimed that the studio wants to enlist a fresh new cast, who will bring the story to life. However, Barrymore might potentially appear in the movie because she has also signed on to serve as a producer with Nancy Juvonen through their Flower Films banner.
The original 2009 movie was directed by The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants filmmaker Ken Kwapis from a screenplay written by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein. Besides Affleck, Aniston, and Barrymore, the ensemble cast also included Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Scarlett Johansson, and Justin Long. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the movie still had a good box office performance with a worldwide gross of over $178 million against a reported budget of around $40 million.
