Fast & Furious 11: Vin Diesel & Michelle Rodriguez Share Important Aspect of Final Movie
Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez have shared a new update regarding Fast & Furious 11.
Fast X was released in United States theaters in 2023. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the film once again sees Diesel reprise his role as Dominic Toretto. Another sequel, Fast and Furious 11 — also known as Fast X: Part 2 — was planned after that; however, the film has had a hard time getting off the ground.
According to a recent update from the Wall Street Journal, Fast 11 doesn’t have an approved script as of yet, while “most” of the cast don’t have deals to star in the film. This largely seems to be because of budget concerns, as the article states, “Universal executives have told filmmakers they won’t make another sequel unless it costs around $200 million. That way, it would earn a healthy profit even if it grosses less than Fast X. Studios typically look for a film to gross three times its budget to earn a targeted return on investment.”
Having said that, Diesel recently posted some photos and a video of himself and Michael Moses, a chief marketing officer for Universal Pictures. This post seems to suggest that the project is moving forward, as Moses said in the video, “Planning everything. We’ve got it solved.”
What did Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez say about Fast & Furious 11?
Now, Diesel has shared another video on Instagram that sees him and Rodriguez, who plays Letty in the Fast and Furious movies, briefly discuss the franchise’s next, and seemingly final, entry.
“It’s Toretto Tuesday,” Diesel says in the video. “And, of course, we capped off the day with a very important meeting with another Toretto. Can I tell them what I asked you at the end of dinner? I said, if you could sum up [The Fast and the Furious] finale, or what’s important to you about the finale, in one sentence, what would it be?”
Rodriguez answered, “To bring it back to the integrity that we started with.”
At this time, the eleventh Fast & Furious movie does not have a release date from Universal Pictures.
