Marvel Head Teases New Season of Canceled Netflix Show

Jessica Jones could be the next Netflix/Marvel hero to receive her own Disney+ continuation.

What did Marvel tease about a potential Jessica Jones Season 4?

With Krysten Ritter set to return as Jessica Jones in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again, Brad Winderbaum, who is Marvel Studios‘ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, was recently asked during an interview with the Phase Hero podcast about when the character may receive her own Disney+ revival project. “[It’s coming] maybe sooner than you think,” Winderbaum teased.

When Ritter joined the podcast episode later on, she also hinted at there being plenty more to explore with Jessica Jones now that she is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “There’s a lot of stuff that I’ve felt there was room to explore, and Brad and I talked about it. And I am not going to say any of it, because we’re going to be doing it,” she remarked.

Created by Melissa Rosenberg, Jessica Jones follows Ritter’s title character, an ex-superhero turned private investigator, as she opens her own detective agency, Alias Investigations, and works to stop the villainous Kilgrave. Jessica Jones is notable for being the only other Marvel series besides Daredevil to last more than two seasons on Netflix, with its three 13-episode seasons dropping in 2015, 2018, and 2019.

If Marvel is working on a new Jessica Jones series, it would mark the studio’s third project to feature a major Netflix character, after Daredevil and The Punisher. The former is already in development on its third season of Born Again, while the latter is in production on a Marvel Studios Special Presentation. Both are expected to be released in 2026 on Disney+.

All three characters will appear in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, although it is currently unknown if they will all share a scene. The first trailer for the new season was shown to those in attendance at the recent New York Comic Con, with the footage reportedly featuring Jessica Jones’ return as well as shots of Daredevil fighting in his new costume.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is slated to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026.
