Alicia Silverstone Netflix Christmas Movie A Merry Little Ex-Mas Gets Trailer

Netflix has shared the official trailer for A Merry Little Ex-Mas, its newest romantic holiday comedy led by Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) and Oliver Hudson (Rules of Engagement). The movie will be available for streaming starting on November 12, 2025.

“Recently divorced Kate hopes for one last perfect family Christmas before selling her house. But her holiday plans are hilariously derailed when her ex-husband Everett unexpectedly introduces his younger and successful new girlfriend,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the A Merry Little Ex-Mas trailer?

The video introduces Silverstone and Hudson as divorced exes Kate and Everett, who decided to spend their last Christmas together as a family. However, things get complicated with the arrival of Everett’s new girlfriend. This leads Kate to find her own plus one for the holidays in the form of a charming 28-year-old Christmas tree seller. The trailer also teases unresolved feelings between Kate and Everett, making it the messiest and most memorable Christmas they’ll ever have.

A Merry Little Ex-Mas is directed by Steve Carr from a screenplay written by Holly Hester. The cast also includes Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Pierson Fodé (The Wrong Paris), Wilder Hudson, Emily Hall, Timothy Innes, and Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch). It is produced by Paul Hart and Melissa Joan Hart, with Silverstone and Galen Fletcher serving as executive producers.

“This was a dream-come-true cast,” Hart said in an interview with Tudum. “It’s a mystery to me how Alicia and I have somehow never even met until now, considering we have so much and so many people in common. Oliver is one of the funniest men I’ve ever met . . . Jameela, I was dying to work with, and we hit it off like BFFs immediately. And [Pierson’s] a complete pro and such a joy on set!”
