Andrew Garfield Teases Next Spider-Man Crossover Movie He Wants To Join
As speculation runs wild about which multiversal heroes will appear in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars, Andrew Garfield’s latest answer isn’t shocking for fans. Following his infamous lies about not being in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield’s newest comments feel like a familiar and welcome echo from the past.

Andrew Garfield was asked by MTV’s Josh Horowitz if he’d appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, the upcoming Russo Brothers-directed film that will conclude Marvel’s Multiverse Saga. After a laugh and keeping it ambiguous, he replied, “You’ll find out! Whatever response I’m having, is it exasperation? Is it? I don’t know. You’ll find out.”
This ambiguity is a tactic fans recognize all too well. For months leading up to Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield vehemently denied his involvement, even famously saying, “I’m not the Werewolf.” Then his return alongside Tobey Maguire became one of the most celebrated cinematic surprises in recent memory. Many now suspect he’s simply repeating history by dodging questions about Secret Wars.
While avoiding a direct answer, Garfield did share which Marvel stars he’d like to team up with if given the chance. “Yeah, I love Hugh Jackman,” he said, praising the Deadpool & Wolverine actor who reprised his role as Wolverine in 2024. He also expressed admiration for Tom Hardy’s Venom, calling Hardy “a really formidable actor” and saying he’d be “up for a good time.”
Additionally, Garfield mentioned his fondness for the animated Spider-Verse films, saying, “I really love the Spider-Verse movies. I love Lord and Miller. Just putting that out there.” His The Amazing Spider-Man version briefly appeared via archival footage in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), and his appearance in the 2027 movie Beyond the Spider-Verse isn’t out of the question either.
But whether he returns in Avengers: Secret Wars remains to be seen. It releases in 2027, following Avengers: Doomsday, which is set for a December 2026 release. Robert Downey Jr. is returning as Doctor Doom, and the film also stars The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads, along with many other Avengers cast members.
