Hailee Steinfeld Gives Updates on MCU Return, Beyond the Spider-Verse

Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld has finally opened up about her upcoming projects with Marvel. Besides voicing the character of Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Verse franchise, Steinfeld is also best known for playing Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What did Hailee Steinfeld say about her future Marvel projects?

During a recent interview with Variety, Steinfeld was asked about her rumored return in a potential Young Avengers project, after she was listed as a cast member in a new Marvel series titled Champions on IMDb. She admitted that she doesn’t know anything about the said mysterious listing. However, she confirmed that she’s always ready to come back as Kate Bishop whenever Marvel calls her.

“I saw that! You’re telling me anyone can just update IMDb now? Because part of me was like, “Is this someone random just throwing stuff out? Or someone who knows something?” she said. “As for Marvel, I’m always waiting by the phone. I love that family. I’m so grateful to be a part of it. Anytime they need me, they know where to find me.”

In addition, Steinfeld also shared an update regarding the status of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, revealing that she has been in the recording studio multiple times as the project has been constantly evolving.

“We’re into it. I wonder sometimes if anything ever gets scrapped, because I’ve said the word ‘Miles’ in so many different ways and tones — they probably have a whole library,” she continued. “But the process is constantly changing. You never get the full script at the top. It evolves. And that makes it so crazy and fun to be a part of.”

Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson are directing the animated threequel from a screenplay written by Dave Callaham, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller. The voice cast includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Nicolas Cage as Spider-Noir, John Mulaney as Spider-Ham, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Karan Soni as Spider-Man India, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Velez as Rio Morales, and more.
