Street Fighter: New Video Game Movie’s Stunts Teased by WWE Star
Cody Rhodes has shared an update on the forthcoming Street Fighter movie.
A new Street Fighter movie directed by Kitao Sakurai is now in production. Based on the popular video game series published by Capcom, the film is scheduled to arrive in United States theaters in a little over a year from Paramount Pictures.
WWE star Cody Rhodes has been tapped to play Guile in the Street Fighter movie, while the cast also includes Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, and more.
What did Cody Rhodes say about the Street Fighter movie?
During a recent interview on The Pat McAfee Show, via Wrestling Inc., Rhodes shared an update about the film’s production and teased some of the stunts that fans will see once the movie is finished.
“I was adamant that anything that’s a stunt, I want to do it,” Rhodes said. “If that requires me being on these wires, I want to do it. If you put another guy in the corner who I know is gonna do the shot after, I still want a shot at it.”
Rhodes said that he was allowed to attempt to do most of his character’s stunts at least once, while stuntmen then filmed extra takes. The WWE star said he was unsure how many of the stunt scenes he filmed would make it into the final cut of Street Fighter.
“Noah [Centineo], Callina [Liang], and [Andrew] Koji, who are the three leads, [are] unbelievably good actors, who are taking it so dead serious and are there to work every day,” Rhodes added. “Then you’ve got me, 50 Cent, Andrew Schultz, and Roman. We were able to play.”
The Street Fighter movie officially arrives on October 16, 2026.
