
Channing Tatum Is a Fugitive in Final Roofman Trailer
Paramount Pictures has released the final trailer for Roofman, the upcoming crime comedy led by 21 Jump Street star Channing Tatum. Following its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, the movie is now slated to arrive in theaters on October 10.
“The film follows Jeffrey Manchester, a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman. After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys ‘R’ Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move,” reads the official synopsis. “But when he falls for Leigh, a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life begins to unravel, setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.”

What happens in the Roofman final trailer?
The video introduces Tatum as a fugitive who secretly hides at a popular toy store for six months. However, he starts struggling to stick to his plans after he falls in love with a single mother who works at the toy store. The trailer highlights the crazy things he’ll do to avoid getting caught. The story is based on the unbelievable true story of Jeffrey Manchester, who robbed around 45 McDonald’s restaurants during the late ’90s.
Roofman is directed by Derek Cianfrance, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kirt Gunn. Joining Tatum are Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O. Yang, and Peter Dinklage. In addition to leading the cast, Tatum is also serving as an executive producer, along with Cianfrance. Since its world premiere, the film has already garnered a Tomatometer rating of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 40 reviews.
