Jacob Elordi’s Frankenstein gets new look in poster ahead of trailer
Netflix has unveiled a new poster for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Jacob Elordi appears as the Creature, wearing a fur-lined coat and showing a pale, scarred face. The poster confirms the release dates—October 17 in select theaters and November 7 on Netflix. It also spotlights the main cast, which includes Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, and Elordi.
The film adapts Mary Shelley’s classic story, with del Toro reimagining Victor Frankenstein as both scientist and artist. “Ever since I started drawing the creature in the late ’70s and early ’80s, I knew I didn’t want symmetric scars and I didn’t want sutures or clamps,” del Toro said earlier in August 2025. He explained that his design aimed to resemble “a jigsaw puzzle” and added, “I wanted him to look beautiful, like a newborn thing” (via Variety). He also explained that the monster’s bodies may come from a battlefield, and that idea influenced how he joined the corpses.
Earlier promotional material showed Elordi’s monster wrapped in furs in a snowy setting. The new poster now reveals his stitched features and exposed hand. Reports describe the character’s look as multiple faces combined with layers of muscle. A red eye peers out from beneath strands of hair. This design departs from more traditional depictions of Frankenstein’s creation.
The cast features Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Christian Convery, Charles Dance, and Christoph Waltz. The story follows Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, as he creates a monster that ultimately destroys them both.
Netflix confirmed on its official account that the platform will release the full trailer on October 2, ahead of the fall debut.
