Former WWE Star Confirms Talks for Friday the 13th Revival as Jason Voorhees

With new Friday the 13th projects actively moving forward, the franchise may have found a new Jason Voorhees for its revival film. In a recent interview, Adam Scherr, who gained worldwide acclaim under the moniker of Braun Strowman through his prolonged stint in the WWE, expressed his interest in taking on the role of the hockey-mask-wearing killer before suggesting that talks about his casting may already be underway.

Adam Scherr says he is in ‘talks’ to play Jason Voorhees in new Friday the 13th movie

While speaking with Collider‘s Perri Nemiroff at the world premiere of his latest feature, Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon, Scherr revealed that he would love to headline the Friday the 13th revival movie as the franchise’s iconic killer, Jason.

When asked about which horror franchise he’d like to feature in, Scherr quickly replied, “Oh, Friday the 13th. Jason.” The 42-year-old strongman went as far as to say that he’ll “gladly shave this beard off to play that character.”

Scherr then suggested that if all things go according to plan, he’ll be able to nab his dream role in the Friday the 13th revival film. “There may be some talks about it with people that I know and my agency. If we could ever get everybody to get back on the same page and allow the things to work, I might be the next Voorhees,” the one-time WWE Universal Championship holder revealed.

At the time of writing, a new “Jason Universe” is under development and aims to premiere several projects, including short films, feature-length movies, and video games, revolving around the Friday the 13th franchise. A 15-minute short, titled “Sweet Revenge,” has already made its way onto the Jason Universe YouTube channel. Meanwhile, A24 and Peacock have partnered up to produce a Friday the 13th prequel series called Crystal Lake, which will see Chucky star Callum Vinson portray a younger version of Jason.

As of now, no official details regarding a Friday the 13th revival movie have come out.
