Iconic Horror Movie Franchise Comes to HBO Max in Time for Halloween
An iconic horror movie franchise is being added to HBO Max just in time for Halloween.
As Halloween begins to approach closer and closer, HBO Max has announced that a large number of the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies will be available to watch on the streaming service one week from today.
What Nightmare on Elm Street movies are coming to HBO Max?
Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street, which was released in 1984, will be available to stream on HBO Max on October 1, 2025. That movie introduced the world to Robert Englund’s Freddy Krueger, while Heather Langenkamp, Johnny Depp, Ronee Blakley, and John Saxon also star.
A number of the sequels are also coming to the platform on the same day, including 1985’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, 1987’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, 1988’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, 1989’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, and 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason.
Only three movies that are a part of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise are missing from this list: 1991’s Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, 1994’s Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, and 2010’s A Nightmare on Elm Street, the latter of which is a remake directed by Samuel Bayer and produced by Michael Bay that stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger.
At the time of this article’s publication, however, the 2010 version of A Nightmare on Elm Street is already available to stream on HBO Max, meaning subscribers can check out that movie right now if they choose to do so.
Wes Craven’s New Nightmare and Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, meanwhile, are both currently available to stream on AMC+. They can also be rented or purchased on various digital outlets such as Apple TV, Prime Video, and more.
