Crunchyroll CEO Gives Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Parts 2 & 3 Release Date Update
Fans will be disappointed after learning about the new update on the release dates of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Parts 2 and 3. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise originated as a manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge.
Its namesake anime series adaptation premiered in Japan in 2019 and became a massive success. In June 2024, it was announced that the Infinity Castle arc of the manga would receive a film trilogy adaptation. The first among them premiered in Japan on July 18, 2025, before releasing in the US on September 12.
Crunchyroll CEO reveals Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Parts 2 & 3 release dates have not been decided
Rahul Purini, the CEO of Crunchyroll, discussed the critical and commercial success of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, the first entry in the trilogy, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
When asked about the release dates of Parts 2 and 3 of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, Purini replied, “Well, we’ve announced that it will be a trilogy of movies, but our partners at Aniplex and Ufotable haven’t decided on dates yet. But look, there’s definitely urgency for all of us to bring more Demon Slayer to fans as soon as we can — because we know the urgency is there among the fanbase.”
Sony Pictures distributed the first movie in international markets (including the US) via Crunchyroll, with Aniplex and Toho releasing it in Japan. Meanwhile, Ufotable is the animation studio behind all Demon Slayer anime projects.
In July 2025, Anime Rave speculated that the second part could come out in 2027 and the third in 2029. While Purini’s comment didn’t confirm the exact release date windows, it did allude to the fact that fans might have to wait for a while before those movies come out.
Haruo Sotozaki directed the anime feature from a screenplay by Hikaru Kondo and other members of Ufotable staff. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is currently in theaters.
