
Spider-Man 4 Gets Production Update Following Tom Holland Injury
A new Spider-Man 4 update reveals when filming will resume.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is scheduled to arrive in July 2026. Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, the blockbuster movie will once again see Tom Holland reprise his MCU role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
On Friday, September 19, 2025, Holland sustained a mild concussion while filming a scene for Spider-Man 4, which resulted in filming being suspended. No other cast or crew members were injured.
When does Spider-Man 4 resume filming?
Per Variety, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will resume filming on Monday, September 29, 2025. Holland’s injury. The week-long suspension of production will not impact the movie’s release date.
Further details are scarce at the moment, though Variety does report that Holland “is recuperating out of an abundance of caution,” according to a source who is close to the production. Deadline also notes that Holland was “taken to the hospital where he was examined, but not admitted, after suffering the concussion reportedly during a stunt gone wrong on the Pinewood Studios set of the film.”
Production on the movie officially began in August.
Plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day remain under wraps at this time. In addition to Holland, the cast of the movie includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, the latter of whom hasn’t been seen in the MCU since 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Additionally, Severance’s Trammel Tillman, Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink, and The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas have all been cast in undisclosed roles.
