Julia Roberts & Andrew Garfield’s After the Hunt Gets New Trailer, Character Posters

Amazon MGM Studios has released the new trailer and character posters for After the Hunt, the upcoming psychological thriller drama from acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino. The movie is now slated to arrive in theaters in New York and LA on October 10, followed by its wide release on October 17.

“The film is a gripping psychological drama about a college professor who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student levels an accusation against one of her colleagues, and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the After the Hunt trailer?

The video features Academy Award winner Julia Roberts as Alma Olsson, a college professor who gets caught up in the middle of a scandal involving her close colleague and star student. The trailer highlights Alma’s role in the issue, as this forces her to confront her own past. Since its recent world premiere at the 2025 Venice International Festival, the movie has already received a Tomatometer rating of 49% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 39 reviews.

Guadagnino directs After the Hunt from a screenplay written by Nora Garrett. The ensemble cast also includes Andrew Garfield, Ayo Edebiri, Michael Stuhlbarg, Chloë Sevigny, Lío Mehiel, Thaddea Graham, Ariyan Kassam, Will Price, Christine Dye, and Burgess Byrd. It is executive produced by Garrett, Karen Lunder, Justin Wilkes, and Alice Dawson, with Guadagnino, Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody, and Allan Mandelbaum serving as producers.
