Vin Diesel Teases MCU Return, Fast & Furious 11, & More

Guardians of the Galaxy star Vin Diesel has continued to tease the upcoming projects that he’s currently working on, including a solo Groot movie, seemingly titled The Arbor King. Diesel was last seen on the big screen in 2023’s Fast X, which is currently one of the franchise’s lowest-rated installments.

What did Vin Diesel say about his future movies?

Posted on Instagram, Diesel shared a photo of himself wearing a familiar costume and holding a pair of goggles, teasing the production of the long-awaited Riddick: Furya movie. In addition, the action star also expressed how excited he is for what’s to come, teasing the development of the solo Groot movie, Fast X: Part 2, Xander Cage’s return in the fourth xXx movie, The Last Witch Hunter sequel, and his long-in-development film adaptation of the 1970s crime drama show Kojak.

“So much to share… iconic stories that all resonate with something deep inside,” Diesel wrote in his caption. “A global audience who has literally been the blessing of this artist’s life. Groot’s return in the Arbor King, that infamous New York Detective, Kaulder’s Oath, Xander’s next adventure in Mumbai, Street racers reunited in LA, and of course, the Furyan…”

At the moment, Marvel Studios hasn’t released any official statements about the Groot sequel. According to Diesel, he’s developing and writing the project, which was described as the “long-awaited story of Groot’s return” to his home, Planet X. Should the project push through, this would potentially serve as the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s first Groot-centered movie. The fan-favorite character was last seen in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In the end, he and Groot were the last remaining original members of the team.

Besides Fast X: Part 2, Diesel is also developing a brand new Fast & Furious short film, which will be a sequel to 2009’s Fast & Furious short film titled Los Bandoleros. Further details about the project’s plot and characters are still under wraps. Riddick: Furya is being directed by David Twohy, who has been attached to the project since 2016. It currently has no release date yet.
