Who is involved in the Anaconda reboot with Jack Black and Paul Rudd?
In Anaconda, Black and Rudd play Doug and Griff, two lifelong friends who “always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie: the cinematic classic, Anaconda.” Due to a midlife crisis, Doug and Griff head to the Amazon to film their movie.
“But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation,” the official synopsis reads. “The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed.”
Anaconda’s supporting cast includes Selton Mello as Santiago Braga, Daniela Melchior as Ana Almeida, Thandiwe Newton as Claire Simons, Steve Zahn as Kenny Trent, and Ione Skye as Malie McCallister.
Tom Gormican directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Kevin Etten. Gormican is best known for directing The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, an action comedy starring Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal. The Anaconda reboot will be produced by Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.
Gormican’s Anaconda is a reimagining of the 1997 film, Anaconda. Directed by Luis Llosa, Anaconda follows a documentary crew in the Amazon rainforest who are coerced into aiding a snake hunter in capturing a record-breaking anaconda. Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, and Jon Voight starred in the movie that, despite negative reviews, grossed $136 million worldwide on a $45 million budget.
Sony Pictures will release the Anaconda reboot in theaters on December 25, 2025.
