Jack Black & Paul Rudd’s Anaconda Reboot Gets First Look at Snake, Logo
Sony Pictures has unveiled the official logo and first key art visuals for its highly anticipated Anaconda reboot, which will be led by Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star Jack Black and Avengers: Doomsday star Paul Rudd.
Featured on a Cinemark snacks stand, the key art provides audiences with the first look at the reboot’s titular snake. The movie is still scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 25, 2025.
Who’s involved in the Anaconda reboot?
The Anaconda reboot is directed by Tom Gormican, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Etten, based on the franchise created by Hans Bauer, Jim Cash, and Jack Epps Jr. Besides Black and Rudd, the cast also includes Brazilian actor Selton Mello (I’m Still Here) as Santiago, Thandiwe Newton (Westworld) as Claire Simons, Steve Zahn (The White Lotus) as Kenny Trent, Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) as Ana Almeida, and Ione Skye (Wayne’s World) as Malie McCallister.
“The reboot involves a group of friends facing mid-life crises who are remaking their favorite movie from their youth. They head to the rainforest, only to find themselves in a fight for their lives against natural disasters, giant snakes, and violent criminals,” reads the synopsis.
The horror franchise began with the 1997 movie starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, and Owen Wilson. Due to its box office success, it spawned three sequels, including 2004’s Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, 2008’s Anaconda 3: Offspring, and 2009’s Anacondas: Trail of Blood, as well as a 2015 crossover, Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.
