“When Sara (Elizabeth Hurley) is served divorce papers while she is in New York, she is stunned,” reads the film’s synopsis. “Not about to lose the fortune she amassed with her self-serving Texan husband, she makes an offer to her process server, Joe (Matthew Perry), that sets them off on a wild trip across the country.”

Serving Sara was one of many roles the late Perry starred in while he was a member of the cast of Friends. The movie also served as another vehicle for Hurley, who was coming off of her successful roles in the Austin Powers franchise, EDtv, and 2000’s Bedazzled.

Other cast members of Serving Sara include Bruce Campbell, Vincent Pastore, Cedric the Entertainer, Terry Crews, Jerry Stiller, Marshall Bell, and Joe Viterelli.
