Street Fighter Movie Undergoes Big Change, Cast Adds Eric Andre

New information about the upcoming Street Fighter movie suggests the film is getting a slight shakeup and adding comedian Eric André to its cast.

What’s the new change for the Street Fighter movie?

According to a recent report from Puck, the upcoming movie will be the first Legendary Entertainment franchise to release via its new distribution deal with Paramount. Instead of the film releasing under Sony Pictures, it’ll instead be under the Paramount banner.

A secondary report on the film from Nexus Point News confirms the previously rumored casting of Eric André. According to the report, André will play the role of Don Sauvage, a non-playable character in the games who serves as the ring announcer for the game’s CWA.

The cast of the upcoming Street Fighter movie features a star-studded group, including Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Noah Centineo as Ken, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Orville Peck as Vega, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog. Other reported castings include New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Indian action star Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim.

Production on the film is expected to begin in Australia this coming August. Plot details remain under wraps at this time. Legendary Entertainment is co-developing and co-producing the project alongside Capcom.

A release date for the Street Fighter movie has not yet been set.
