Sophie Turner Found Kissing Game of Thrones Co-Star Kit Harrington ‘Vile’

The highly-watched Game of Thrones series finale may have been the last we’ve seen of Sansa Stark and Jon Snow. However, it won’t be the last time we see Sophie Turner and Kit Harrington co-starring. The two will be playing lovers in The Dreadful, but Turner describes her kiss with Harrington as “vile.”

In Game of Thrones, Sophie Turner and Kit Harrington played relatives. Sansa and Jon believed they were half-siblings until season 7’s twist revealed they’re first cousins and Jon is a Targaryen.

However, the Game of Thrones set wouldn’t be the final time Sophie Turner and Kit Harrington work together. Their new British gothic horror movie is called The Dreadful, set during the War of the Roses. A woman who lives on the “outskirts of society” with her mother-in-law receives a visit from a man from their past, changing her life unexpectedly.

What did Sophie Turner say about kissing Kit Harrington?

On The Late Night with Seth Meyers, Sophie Turner, who’s producing The Dreadful, spoke of how she recommended to director Natasha Kermani to cast Kit Harrington after flipping through the script. Once she offered the role to the British actor, here was his answer:

“And so, I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message going like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really fucking weird, Soph,'” said Turner. “And I was like, what is he talking about? And then I was reading it and I’m like, kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex. And then I’m like, ‘Oh shoot, that’s my brother.'”

But since Kit Harrington was so taken with the script, he knew he and his co-star had to go for it. Kissing on The Dreadful, however, was, well, dreadful. In her words, she described the lip-action with her Game of Thrones co-star as “vile:”

“So then, we put it out of our minds and then we get on set and it’s the first kissing scene, and we’re both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst. Another really bad moment in my career.”
