Spider-Man 4 Set Photo Teases Venom Symbiote in MCU

A new Spider-Man 4 set photo has fans convinced Venom will show up in the MCU movie.

Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is currently in production. The Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures movie is directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton and will see Tom Holland once again reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

What do we see in the Spider-Man 4 set photo?

The Spider-Man 4 set photo is a poster with the word “symbiosis” and an accompanying dictionary definition of the word.

This isn’t confirmation that Venom will actually show up in the Marvel movie; rather, it could easily just be an Easter egg that appears in the background, if it actually shows up in the movie at all. However, fans were quick to note that it’s a nod to Venom and are now hoping to see the symbiote show up.

If Venom does actually appear in Spider-Man 4, it may not be in the way some fans are expecting. Michael Mando has dropped a few hints that his Mac Gargan/Scorpion character may be the one bonding with the symbiote. This has not been officially confirmed, and it’s unclear if Tom Hardy would continue to voice the character should it come to fruition.

The cast of Spider-Man 4 also includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Additionally, both Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink and The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas have been cast in undisclosed roles.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. After that, Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, followed by the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, on December 17, 2027.
