Cool Runnings 2 Update Is Sure To Be Divisive
A surprising Cool Runnings 2 update popped up this week, sending fans of the original Disney series into divisive debates.
What is the new Cool Runnings 2 update?
According to a new report from noted insider Daniel Richtman, a Cool Runnings 2 is not only in development, but will feature an all-female bobsleigh team. The news quickly sent users online into a debate about the film and whether or not it needed a sequel, or one led by female actors.
Disney has not officially confirmed or denied the story. The report itself is one of the first that we’ve seen of a sequel to the 1993 movie being in development. Currently, no word on its directorial or cast involvement has been made at all.

The original Cool Runnings released in 1993, and was loosely based on the story of the debut of the Jamaican national bobsleigh team that competed at the 1988 Winter Olympics. The movie starred Leon, Doug E. Doug, Rawle D. Lewis, Malik Yoba, and the late John Candy.
The movie, directed by Jon Turteltaub, was a smash hit when it released in theaters. Cool Runnings grossed over $150 million, and received wide praise from both audiences and critics alike. The film’s theme song, a cover of Jimmy Cliff’s “I Can See Clearly Now,” also found success, and was a top 20 song on the US Billboard Hot 100.
