New James Bond Actor Possibly Revealed Following 007 Test

As James Bond fans anxiously wait for more information about Denis Villeneuve’s 007 movie, it appears that at least one actor may have already auditioned for the lead role.

Following his work on Dune 3, Villeneuve will make a James Bond movie for Amazon MGM Studios. This comes after the company obtained full creative control over the 007 franchise through a joint venture deal with Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

Nobody has been cast in the role of 007 as of yet, and a release date for the film has not been set. It is known that the script is being written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

What is the latest update on James Bond?

Per The Hollywood Reporter, a “well-placed source close to the production” of the new James Bond movie claims that Scott Rose-Marsh, a 37-year-old redheaded actor, was “brought in sometime in late June to read sides from 1995’s GoldenEye, presumably for just-hired director Denis Villeneuve.

“He might also have tackled pages from the script Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is said to be whipping up for Bond 26. Whatever the material, [The Hollywood Reporter’s Rambling Reporter’s] source claims Rose-Marsh was given just one piece of direction before the test cameras rolled: Don’t impersonate a previous Bond. If Rose-March did indeed test, it torpedoes one widely held theory swirling around the film — that Amazon, which purchased the 007 franchise for a reported $1 billion this year, is looking to reboot with a 20-something Bond to lure younger audiences.”

Amazon MGM Studios and Rose-Marsh’s did not return The Hollywood Reporter’s request for comment, meaning this should be taken with a grain of salt as the publication is treating it as a rumor at this time.

Rose-Marsh’s filmography includes 2021’s Code of Silence and 2022’s Wolves of War. He has appeared in television shows such as The Outlaws, Chloe, and Yr Amgueddfa.
