Friday the 13th Reveals New Jason Voorhees Actor

Jason Voorhees is almost ready to make his return, and we now know who will be the first to play the character as the mysterious Jason Universe begins.

Who is the new Jason Voorhees actor for Friday the 13th?

According to a recent report from Bloody Disgusting, a new 13-minute short titled Sweet Revenge is set to release next week. The short will be a part of the new “Jason Universe,” and will see Voorhees played by actor and stuntman Schuyler White.

The Sweet Revenge short will make its debut next week, on August 13, 2025, and will be broadcast on the Jason Universe YouTube channel. White is just one of several actors set to play Voorhees as the Friday the 13th franchise ramps back up. Last month, it was reported that Chucky star Callum Vinson will play the role in the upcoming Crystal Lake series. While Vinson will be playing a younger Voorhees, White is going to play the one most horror fans know.

The new short is just one of several projects that signals the kickstarting of the Friday the 13th franchise revival. Earlier this year, Voorhees’ new look was officially shown. The new design was done, in part, by special effects legend Greg Nicotero, and is part of a revamped effort to bring back the character and franchise.

These efforts are all set to be collected under the “Jason Universe,” the new umbrella term for a multi-platform expansion of the Friday the 13th franchise that will include things like movies, games, merchandise, and TV shows, like A24 and Peacock‘s upcoming Crystal Lake series. A new logo for the Jason Universe was also unveiled in May, to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Friday the 13th.
