
Pierce Brosnan & Helen Mirren Solve a Murder in The Thursday Murder Club Trailer
Netflix has officially released the first trailer for The Thursday Murder Club, the upcoming murder mystery movie from Chris Columbus and starring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and more. It is set to release on August 28, 2025, on Netflix.
“The Thursday Murder Club follows four irrepressible retirees – Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Ron (Pierce Brosnan), Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley), and Joyce (Celia Imrie) – who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. When an unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands,” says the synopsis.

What happens in The Thursday Murder Club trailer?
The Thursday Murder Club trailer follows a group of retirees that solve cold case murders in their spare time. An unexplained death occurs on their own doorstep, though, and thrusts the group into a whodunit that features tons of turns.
Alongside Mirren and Brosnan, The Thursday Murder Club also stars Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant, and Ingrid Oliver.
Based on Richard Osman’s 2020 international best-selling novel of the same name, The Thursday Murder Club is directed by Home Alone and Harry Potter filmmaker Chris Columbus from a screenplay written by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote. It is executive produced by Jo Burn, Osman, Eleanor Columbus, Holly Bario, and Jeb Brod, with Columbus and Jennifer Todd producing. The film is a production between Amblin and Netflix.
