Josh Gad Finds a Dead Body in His Parents’ Basement in Adulthood Trailer

The first trailer for Adulthood has been released.

Adulthood is a new crime comedy movie from Paramount Pictures that is directed by Alex Winter. Starring Josh Gad (Frozen) and Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner), the film will be released this coming September.

What happens in the Adulthood trailer?

The Adulthood trailer sees Gad and Scodelario play a pair of siblings, Noah and Megan, who discover a ghastly secret hiding in their parents’ basement: a dead body. The two come to the conclusion that their parents must be murderers and attempt to hide the body; however, things go wrong when the police find the corpse and begin looking into the case.

Things get even worse when a character played by Booksmart’s Billie Lourd says that Noah and Megan’s hospitalized mother told her about the body. With Lourd’s character attempting to blackmail them, the siblings hire someone played by Superman’s Anthony Carrigan to try and scare her into complicity.

The official synopsis reads, “When siblings Megan and Noah uncover a long-buried corpse in their parents’ basement, they stumble into a wildly escalating spiral of crime, cover-ups, and murder. The deeper they dig, the harder it becomes to escape.”

Winter, known for starring alongside Keanu Reeves in the Bill & Ted movies, also has an acting role in Adulthood. He additionally serves as a producer with Scott Kroopf, Russell Hollander, Lisa Wolofsky, Michael Cho, Tim Lee, Danny Roberts, H.S. Naji, and Jackie Langelier.

The script comes from Michael M.B. Galvin. Mimi Rode, Osita Onugha, Thorsten Shumacher, Andrew Robinson, Slava Vladimirov, Ryan Fine, and Connie Tavel are executive producers.

Adulthood will be released in select United States theaters on September 19, 2025. It will then be released on digital outlets on September 23, 2025.
